Fellow Certified Management Accountants

The FCMA is a prestigious, national honourary designation that recognizes CMAs, who by their achievements, bring distinction to the profession and serve as a role model for others.

The FCMA is based on recognition by peers of the achievements of a member. Two or more certified members of the Society are required to nominate another certified member for the designation. The categories in which achievements are considered include: Career, The Society of Management Accountants, and Community. Each of these categories is described below.

Career Leadership of Significant Participation in the Development of the Territory of Management Accounting

Members bring distinction to the profession through their personal career accomplishments and by their active participation in the development of the territory of management accounting. Their achievements are seen to benefit individual organizations or a broad community of interests.

The Society of Management Accountants Leadership or Significant Participation in The Society of Management Accountants

As members of a self-regulating profession, CMAs are expected to vigorously support the activities of the Society, the profession, and take an interest in governance of the Society. Participation or leadership in chapter, provincial or national activities or governance, or carrying out a representation role of interest to the Society, is within the scope of this category.

Community Leadership of Significant Participation in the Community-at-Large

Community service brings public recognition to the CMA designation. Members distinguish themselves and their designation by their personal leadership and active participation in the activities of the community.
